Administrative Professionals Day

We were very happy to celebrate Administrative Professionals Day at GMCS! We loved seeing the thoughtful appreciation from each department for the wonderful staff who power GMCS forward. Your support in daily operations strengthens Gallup McKinley County Schools, and we notice the difference you make. We are grateful for your dedication and proud to have you with us.

Thank you for everything you do!

GMCS Listening Tour - A Real Opportunity

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the beginning stops of our Listening Tour. Your time, insights, and openness made this gathering incredibly meaningful. These ongoing conversations help us understand priorities and find real opportunities for growth and collaboration.

As we continue to our next stops, we want future attendees to know that their voices matter. We encourage you to come ready to share your experiences and actively participate in the discussion. These conversations are a vital part of shaping the shared vision for our district. We are committed to listening closely and turning your feedback into action. We look forward to connecting with more of you soon and continuing this important dialogue together.

Join us for our next stop at Ramah High School on May 7th at 5:30, as we work together to shape the future of our school district through open conversation and shared purpose.

The Land Teaches Us

Navajo Pine hosted a Family Science Night themed "The Land Teaches Us", which focused on environmental activities, including building water filtration systems and solar-powered cars.

Writing Contest Winner

Congratulations to Chinmayi Sudharsan for winning the Aldo Leopold Writing Contest!

Her submission, titled "Dancing Weeds of the Mesas," touched on the interconnection we have with nature and its significance. What an accomplishment for this McKinley Academy freshman!

Wild About the Zoo

Del Norte Elementary kindergarteners and first graders visited the Albuquerque Zoo. They loved exploring each exhibit and spending the day with learning and seeing their favorite animals.

Mustang Moolah Market

Ramah students showcased their business products at the Mustang Moolah Market, where students were able to swap currency they had earned throughout the year, for achievements like perfect attendance and maintaining high grades, to buy and support products from their fellow classmates.

Culture and Commitment

GMCS students Sterlen Henderson, Darwin James, Jaysiah Arviso, and Wright Sandoval received their Navajo Bilingual Seal at the Navajo Nation Bilingual Proficiency Award Ceremony. We are proud of them for honoring their culture and community. __________________

Internship Recognition Ceremony

On April 24th, we celebrated our student interns at our Internship Recognition Ceremony, hosted at Gallup High School. Certificates and tokens were awarded to our interns in the Health, Business, Culinary, Teacher Ed, Engineering, Trades, Media, and Technology pathways. The internship program has grown significantly from its implementation in our career pathways. It was inspiring to see how much this program has expanded across our district, creating meaningful opportunities that connect classroom learning to real-world skills. Our students have found it highly beneficial in preparing them for the next steps after high school. We also extend our thanks to the local businesses, site representatives, and GMCS departments for hosting our interns. Your guidance makes a difference in how our students approach these internships. Thank you for investing in our students' growth and helping pave the way for their future achievements. Together, we are building stronger pathways for student success.
